Oil Industry: Jobs - http://www.oiljobfinder.com/
As the worlds 6′th largest producer of oil, Canada combines oil sand extraction and offshore drilling to meet this target.

Oil sands also known as Bituminous sands and sometimes even tar sands refer to petroleum deposits. Besides sand, water and clay the soil in certain areas of Canada also contains a sticky type of petrol. Its also known as “tar” due to the smell and colour of the soil. This is a common occurance across the planet but Canada in particular has large deposits. Due to the costs of fuel, its become economically viable to extract the sticky stuff out of the sand. This means that Oil Sand reserves can now be counted as part of the worlds oil reserves.

The process of extraction is complicated and requires additional refining and the use of steam which means that this is an energy demanding mining process. With this increase in energy use also comes the increase in green house gases.
