Getting your South African Passport:
Office: Locate your nearest Home Affairs office.
Costs: R175 per passport [confirm by phoning first]
Take with you: Green ID doc and 2 colour photo’s.

• You complete the same form if you are renewing your old passport
• You must take your old passport with you
• You can make no mistakes on the form
• Choose to collect the passport from the office and save R220 in courier fees
• You can phone to see if your passport is ready after 2 months

Canadian VISA info:
Visitors – you are only allowed to visit, and are not allowed to work, you have to show proof that you can support yourself and your family during your visit, your passport must have an exit date stamp.

Study – you need to be accepted by a college or place of study, have proof of C$10 000 per year to cover living expences, and have money for tuition. Application takes up to 30 days.
Working – you need to apply. Application takes up to 30 days.
Business – 2.4 millions rand gets you in as an entrepreneur, you have to own 1/3 of a Canadian company and employ at least 1 Canadian citizen.
Permanent – you need to score at least 67 on the online test (refer to the CIC website), can apply now just to get in the queue. It takes up to 40 months to process your application. They recommend that you use the time to improve your skill set (there are long distance learning courses available at most Canadian Colleges or you can do a local French course)
